Condolences:

All involved in Milltown/Castlemaine GAA would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the family of the late Vincent Prendergast of Ardlahas, Beaufort  and Castlemaine, Co. Kerry.

Vincent was a very well known and highly respected gentleman who was a pillar in the local community particularly in the organising and running of a whole host of different events down through the years.

Vincent was also vital to a variety of fundraisers we ran at the club including the Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Ring of Kerry Solo Run in 2013 and a Golf Classic whilst he was also the main man behind the building of all the storage lockers at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park, our home grounds.

An avid supporter of our club over many years, you’d often find Vincent on the terrace side of the Paddy Burke Memorial Park supporting the senior team on a weekend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Vincent’s family and friends at this most difficult time.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Acknowledgement: Club Volunteerism

Well done to a great team of volunteers led by the expertise of Paud and Kieran Hogan who completed trojan work in recent weeks by adding an additional concrete step (the 3rd in total) on the terrace side of the pitch at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown next to the stand.

A fantastic addition to our club facilities which will make the spectator experience all the better. Great stuff lads and thanks to Danny McClure for compiling a video clip (link attached below) which shows in-depth the superb volunteers we have involved in the club who always put their shoulder to the wheel and are never found wanting! ⚪⚪⚪⚪

A busy end of week for our Under 14s girls as they headed for rugged Glenflesk last Thursday evening to begin the East Kerry League campaign, even with an impressive second half performance, they couldn’t overturn the deficit from the first half and came up short against our familiar opponents.

Last Saturday evening, in our second game in East Kerry, we basked in sunshine as we took the short trip to Dr Crokes in Killarney, an outstanding team performance from 1-18 to grind out the win, a huge result for our girls in their inaugural year.

Well done ladies, next up a home game V Firies next Thursday evening, September 5th at 6:30pm
