These projects are part of the first bundle of six buildings in the Government’s Higher Education PPP programme.

The construction cost of the six buildings in the bundle is approximately €250 million. These developments will help MTU achieve its prospective vision of increasing capacity and developing support on campus.

Speaking at the event, Professor Maggie Cusack, President of MTU said; “It is an honour to host Minister Harris at our MTU Kerry North Campus today as we celebrate the construction of our new STEM building. The construction of this building aligns with MTU’s strategic plan to become a globally competitive university. These new facilities will elevate the future of students learning. We look forward to welcoming our first students through the doors of these buildings soon.”

Commenting on new building construction, Chair of MTU’s Governing Body, Jimmy Deenihan said, “The further development of MTU in Kerry will make a huge contribution to furthering STEM education not just in the Southwest, but nationally. MTU’s education and development offerings will benefit the economic growth, future sustainability, research, learning and employment opportunities for generations of students and staff.”
