A TRALEE mom and her two daughters will donate their hair to an organisation in a few weeks and are also raising money for Recovery Haven.

Majella O’Connell of O’Connell’s Pharmacy, and her two daughters Meabh and Maria have decided to donate their hair to the “Little Princess Trust” who provide wigs for children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.

In doing so, they have also decided to raise some vital funds for our local Cancer Support Centre Recovery Haven Kerry.

“We would be very grateful for your support over the next few weeks and on Wednesday, October 9 from 3.30pm for ‘The Triple Chop’ in Hairworks Tralee Hair & Beauty,” said Majella on their gofundme page, which can be accessed by clicking here

Affiliated with the Irish Cancer Society, Recovery Haven provides psychological & social support, information and drop in services to those living with cancer, their families and carers.

They receive no grant aid or State funding and solely rely on donations and fundraising events to help meet their annual operating costs of over €150,000.

2018 was the busiest year on record for Recovery Haven, with over 38,000 attendances to their three support centres across the county.  If you would like to donate to Majella and the girls’ campaign, click on this link https://www.gofundme.com/f/the-triple-chop
