YEARS of hard work and toil came to its fruition on Wednesday when the new St Brendan’s NS Blennerville was officially opened.
Attended by parents, school children, local politicians and members of the Blennerville community, former goverment minister Jimmy Deenihan, was the man who did the honours of unveiling a plaque which celebrated the important day.
The new school opened in January of this year at around the same time the old schoolhouse, which had stood since 1932, was demolished to make way for a carpark and access.

Blennerville is now in possession of a state-of-the-art new school, that is not only the envy of others in the county but in the country as well.
Before the official unveiling, mass was said by Bishop of Kerry, Ray Browne. Afterwards there were refreshments and a chance for members of the school and the community to mix and mingle in the school gymnasium.
