Work experience and work readiness opportunities will be a core component of MTU programme progression pathways in the southwest region for students with intellectual disabilities.

MTU progression pathways for students with intellectual disabilities are the result of close working relationships and consultation with students, their families and community agencies across the southwest region bringing an innovative response to identified needs.

MTU President, Professor Maggie Cusack, welcomed the announcement, commenting: “MTU is an inclusive and accessible university of choice, with the student at the centre of everything we do. Students with intellectual disabilities have been part of the MTU community and culture of inclusion for many years.  This funding will provide greater equity of access and participation opportunities for all students to excel and reach their full potential through the addition of these programme progression pathways.”
