Welcoming the announcement, Minister Norma Foley said:  “I welcome the confirmation by my cabinet colleague Simon Harris, the Minister for Further and Higher Education, that MTU is getting €230,000 in funding from the new Distributed Campus Support Fund. I want to express my thanks to Minister Harris for his personal engagement with me on our ambitious plans for the development, enhancement and growth of MTU. ”

The €4.5 million Distributed Campus Support Fund was set up to help higher education institutions which have to pay higher cost for delivering core campus services across multiple sites.

This can include travel costs between campuses, service costs across multiple sites and the costs of having smaller classes and lower staff student ratios in multiple campuses than single campus institutions.
