Scór: Yesterday saw the end of Na Gaeil’s Scór journey for this year. Helen Sugrue put on a stellar performance at the Munster final in Newport, Co. Tipperary, with a wonderful recitation. Her engaging stage presence and faultless performance had the audience captivated. We are extremely proud to have such a wonderful ambassador representing our club! We will resume our Scór journey once again in the autumn.

Scór: Scór is very much a ’niche’ activity within Na Gaeil. Of course we’re first & foremost a football club, but Scór is the cultural arm of the GAA and is a really great thing to be involved in – especially for kids. It gives them confidence & is good fun! If you’re reading this & think you might like your child to be involved, please contact Margaret at 086 0855008. Or better again, if you’re a parent with maybe something to offer to our small but enthusiastic Scór committee, please get in touch…

U15A Boys: Wednesday 10th April saw the start to the County League for our U15 A team away to Kilcummin. With the adverse weather over recent weeks preparations were hampered, but the boys in green fielded a committed team and took on the challenge head on.

Playing against the wind in the first half, the hosts capitalised pinning us in and registering some fine scores. At the break we trailed by 2-8 to 0-6 with Shane O’Donovan impressing on the forty. A half time rejig helped and Na Gaeil came out of the blocks.

Eoin Tansley broke from wing back to score a fantastic goal. Ben O’Sullivan made a terrific save from a Kilcummin penalty. Despite a huge effort from Darragh O’Callaghan, Danny Brick and Gearóid Moynihan, we couldn’t quite get parity and despite putting massive pressure on at the finish of the game, three points separated the sides at the finish. Kilcummin 2-10, Na Gaeil 1-10.

U15B Boys: Our U15 B team got their County League campaign under way last Thursday evening with a trip to Laune Rangers. Na Gaeil started brightly chipping over some lovely scores through good work from Joseph Field, David Buckley and Aaron Donovan. At half time we led by the minimum.

The second half was a terrific contest and both teams contributed to an exciting match. With two minutes left on the clock Andy Costello rattled the net to give Na Gaeil the lead. However our hosts responded in style a scored 1-1 in injury time to take the spoils.

A terrific team performance were the standouts were Joseph Field, Danny Brick, and Eoghan Behan, Jake Barrett and debutant Finn Murphy. Laune Rangers 4-9, Na Gaeil 3-9.
