RIP: Our sincere sympathy to John & Eamon Browne and the extended Browne & McAuliffe families on the passing of Margaret (Peg) McAuliffe of Ballyduff last week. May she rest in peace.

U7s: Our U7’s enjoyed training in sunny Killeen on Sunday morning. Great to see the skills developing. A big welcome to our new players. Next Sunday we travel to Rathmore for our GoGame. Training continues on Thursday evening at 6:00pm.

U11 Boys: Well done to our under 11 boys who put in two strong performances against Listowel last Thursday evening. Thanks to Listowel for travelling and for helping to serve up two cracking games of football. The lads trained hard yesterday morning in preparation for their upcoming games against St. Senans on Thursday. Well done boys!

U13 Boys: U13 Div.1 County League Final. Na Gaeil 2.13 Milltown 0.15. A great victory for our u13s in an enthralling game in John Mitchels last night. Na Gaeil were 9-7 down at half time to a very strong Milltown team. Andy Costello unerring accuracy from play and frees, our strong defensive play and Ben O Sullivan’s brilliant goal keeping were the key factors keeping us in the game at half time.

We had the breeze at our backs in the 2nd half and with that came a better attacking display. We got our noses in front early in the second half after excellent build up play, Andy finished to the net.

Milltown to their credit never gave in and reduced the lead down to 1 point. The crucial moment of the game came when Rory squared a ball that Ben punched to the net to extend our lead once again to 4 points.

We hung on till the end due to some excellent defending and work rate. The final whistle was met with tremendous celebrations before Eanna accepted the cup. We are so proud of all 42 players on the panel. Thanks to the coaches and parents for everything they have done so far this year.

Senior Men: Last Saturday night our seniors welcomed Gneeveguilla to Killeen for a back-game in the Credit Union Co. League. Both sides were missing a number of regulars but it still proved to be a competitive encounter with the majority of the game’s scores coming from play.

The visitors got off the mark first and had 2 points on the board before Damien Bourke got through for a point. Oisín O’Sullivan who was starting his first senior game for Na Gaeil drew us level and this was quickly followed by 2 more points from play by Enda O’Connor & Ruairí Ó hAiniféin.

But by the 16th minute Gneeveguilla had drawn level. The next score didn’t arrive until the 24th minute but it was a big score for Na Gaeil. An effort at a point came back off the upright and was gathered by the alert Peter Doyle who finished it to the net.

A free from Oisín O’Sullivan extended our lead to 4 points but Gneeveguilla had the last point of the half to leave it 1-5 to 0-5 at the break. Gneeveguilla really got into their stride at the start of the 2nd half and had levelled the game with 3 quick points.

It was the 14th minute before another point from Oisín O’Sullivan put us ahead once more and this was quickly followed by a point apiece from Enda O’Connor and Ruairí Ó hAiniféin to leave us ahead by 3 once more.

Gneeveguilla weren’t done though and in the space of 4 minutes had added 1-2 to their total to put them in the driving seat with just 7 minutes of normal time left. Our lads battled back and two Mark Lynch frees and another point from Oisín O’Sullivan edged us ahead by 1.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep the East Kerry men out for the remaining few minutes and they added a late equalizer to ensure the spoils were shared. Final score: Na Gaeil 1-11, Gneeveguilla 1-11.
