LESS than a year after construction began, the new Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí building is really taking shape.

Photographer Domnick Walsh has been documenting the progress of the development with his drones and the latest photos from just a week ago show how the building — located at Clonmore near University Hospital Kerry — is going up fast.

Minister for Education Norma Foley TD turned the sod on the new building back in May 2021 and it is expected to be completed this autumn.

The new €16 million development will include 22 general classrooms, 4 science labs, a Library and specialist rooms for Art, Technical Graphics, Materials Technology Wood, Music, Home Economics and ICT.

The new 75,000 sq.ft building will have a capacity to cater for 600 students, while the campus will also include a Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, hard-court play areas and further developments to include a Hurling Wall and a training pitch.
