THERE were 109 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, September 13, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.
This is a 14-day incidence rate of 329.9 per 100,000 of the population, below the national incidence of 413.2 per 100,000 as of Monday, September 13.
It’s the third highest rate of the six LEAs in the county. It’s big drop from the 147 cases in the 14 day period up to September 6.

In all, there were 480 new cases recorded in Kerry during the period. This is down from 664 cases in the previous fortnight to September 6.
The LEA with the highest incidence in the county is Castleisland which saw 73 new cases and a rate of 458 per 100,000. The Killarney Electoral Area saw 116 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 391.8 per 100k of the population.
Kenmare had 82 new cases, a rate of 327.2 per 100,000. There were 36 cases in the Corca Dhuibhne Electoral Area, a rate of 253.9 per 100,000. The Listowel Electoral Area saw 64 new cases and a rate of 4223.2 per 100,000.
There have been 7,659 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kerry since the pandemic began. Meanwhile, figures published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre covering the period from March 1st, 2020 to Tuesday of this week showed there have been 60 COVID-19 deaths in Kerry, since the pandemic began.
