Galvins Shop on Rock Street is all set to close this Saturday.

ONE of the most well known shops in Tralee is getting set to close its doors this coming weekend.

Galvin’s shop on Rock Street has been a mainstay of the town since it first opened its doors back in the 1920’s and even to those who have never stepped foot inside it, it is still easily one of the most recognizable buildings in the town.

The shop was first run by John Galvin, and then by his daughters Norrie and Mary after his passing.

Norrie and her husband Dave then later took over the day to day running of it. The premises is now run by the late Norrie’s son, John Gentleman, who, at the moment, is considering the plans for the future of the shop. However, it will remain closed for the short-term.
