THE proceeds of a children’s soccer tournament were presented to a local charity on Saturday morning.

Back on Saturday, August 31, St Brendan’s Park FC hosted the event for U11/12 teams from all over the county, Cork, Clare and Limerick, at their pitches in Cahermoneen.

They had over 320 players from 14 clubs playing on the day and with clubs donating €50 per team and the public charged €2 entry fee, a sum of €1,750 was raised for BumbleANCE.

“This is huge for us and it’s lovely that a local club helped out,” said Mary Heffernan of BumbleANCE. “We’re a children’s charity so it was great that a kids tournament was held. It was a case of children helping children. This is a phenomenal amount of money for us and we’re very grateful.”
