In the past number of years, BUMBLEance have seen an unfortunate rise in the need for their service so funds are needed, hence the Stripy Jumper Day initiative.
“Why not #GetYourStripeOn at your school as an alternative for non-uniform day?” added Heather. “On the 26th, hang out with your friends, your community group, family – whoever! – in stripes just like our BUMBLEance Bee! The money raised will go straight to keeping the BUMBLEance wheels turning and helping as many families as possible,” she said.
There will be many competitions taking place on their social media accounts during the build up to Stripy Jumper Day.
Once you sign up, via www.bumbleance.com, you can set a target. €400 will cover the cost of an Angel Trip, which means that you will be helping BUMBLEance bring a terminally ill child home one last time before they pass. Registrations are open now.

ONE Tipperary man certainly earned the right to put his feet up after he completed the gruelling feat of running six marathons in six days to help raise funds for the BUMBLEance organisation, with Tralee being his final stop on Saturday afternoon.
Noel McCarthy, from Nenagh, took it upon himself to run the ‘Munster 6 in 6’ challenge in which he would run the marathon distance of 26.2 miles every day in each of the six counties in Munster.
He finished his sixth and final run in Tralee late on Saturday afternoon with a team of friends and fellow runners running the last few miles with him into town, finishing with a flourish on The Mall.
Noel has so far managed to raise up to €1,485 for the organisation, with the fundraising page staying open for another week after this for anyone else wishing to donate. They can do so through the fundraising page HERE.
“Thanks to all the well wishers, the supportive comments, the people who loaned me county jerseys for each day, those who ran with me, those who donated money, the groups who allowed me to use their marathon routes and the support crews in each county,” said Noel in a message posted on the ‘Munster 6 in 6’ Facebook page on Monday morning.
“I could not have achieved this great feat without all of you and want to thank you on behalf from me and from those who will benefit from the funds raised for BUMBLEance,” he finished.

They hope to buy another Bumbleance next year and recently did the Dingle to Dublin push to fundraise for it.
A CHARITY Drive which will see a three wheeled van pushed from Dingle to Dublin in aid of the Saoirse Foundation ‘BUMBLEance’ rolled into town on Thursday.
The ‘BUMBLEance’ is a solution for sick children who require ambulance transportation between home and the national treatment centres, children’s hospitals and respite centres. The Dingle to Dublin push is hoping to raise €250,000.
“The response has been fantastic, there is even people coming down from Belfast to push. But saying that, we’re always in need of volunteers because it’s pretty tough going,” said Tony Heffernan of the Saoirse Foundation.
Tony and Mary Heffernan tragically lost their son and daughter Liam and Saoirse to Battens disease.
“The main thing we’re trying to do is put another ambulance on the road for kids all across Ireland,” said Tony.
The BUMBLEance will allow parents to avoid the stress of driving their sick child on a long journey with no medical assistance and remove the constant worries associated with moving medical equipment and medication, as well as the reality of trying to find a parking space for the family car as soon as they reach their destination.
It will come equipped with the latest technology on board, including a 19 inch LED TV, DVD, Playstation, iPad Mini, Nubi and much more. It will also have bundles of games, books, apps and music to shorten the journey for sick children.
A number of adventurers have taken up the cause including Dingle’s Polar explorer, Mike O’Shea.
“The Conor Pass on Thursday morning was pretty tough as you can imagine, it’s a 1,500 foot of a claim over four miles,” Mike.
“It’s very tough physically, there’s three of us doing the whole thing and we have new people coming in every day, so it’s great to get the fresh legs,” said Mike.
“On average we have between 15 and 25 people giving us a hand each day, also we have people collecting with buckets,” said Mike.
“It’s great to push the car to Dublin, but it’s about getting the funds in place to try and raise €250,000,” Mike said.
