THE hugely successful Kerry-based cycle ‘Pedal for Grace’ is returning for its third year on September 7.

Last year saw the event, held by Grace O’Sullivan’s family and her local village of Firies, raise over €25,000 for Vision Ireland services. These services ensure thousands of those living with sight loss in Ireland can participate in society.

Grace is 14 years old and she has a visual impairment called Stargardt disease, which causes progressive sight loss.

Vision Ireland service supports Grace in living her life to the fullest while she gains and maintains her confidence and independence as she makes her way through life.

Grace’s mother, Mary O’Sullivan, said: “Last year’s Pedal for Grace was a huge success, thanks to the amazing support from our local community and beyond. It’s something everyone in the Village looks forward to. This year, in our third year, we’re back with a bang and hope those who enjoyed it last year will join us again. We also welcome new friends who want to take part. We love doing this because it ensures services and events like ‘Zero Limits’ can continue. It is why we do it.”

The event will kick off at the Firies Community Centre. Registration for Pedal for Grace can be done on www.VisionIreland.ie  in advance of the event or can be completed on the day of the event from 8.30am onwards.

9.30 am – 60km – Killorglin Loop – €30
10.30 am – 14Km Loop walk – €10
