Phoenix Centre To Launch ‘Women’s Shed’ This Month

THE Phoenix Women’s Centre is holding an official launch later this month as it prepares to expand its range of activities, training programmes, workshops, and events.

The centre, located at Market Place on Maine Street in Tralee, will now be known as the Phoenix Women’s Centre and Shed. The Centre will still be providing the full range of supports, counselling, advocacy, signposting to specialist agencies, confidential phone line for any challenges, difficulties or crises faced by women in Kerry.

Under the banner of the Phoenix Women’s Shed they will be consolidating their empowerment and personal development programmes, walking group, nutrition classes, yoga sessions, drumming, art therapy, self care workshops and talks on issues affecting women.

All Shed events from July to December 2022 will be held on a Thursday from 10.30am – 1.30pm in the Pipers Band Hall, Matt Talbot Road, Tralee (back of Garvey’s Supervalu car park).

There will be a Public Meeting on Thursday, July 7 at 10.30am for all women interested in joining the shed at the Pipers Band Hall.

There will also be an official launch of the Shed during a summer social event with a buffet at The Meadowlands Hotel on Friday, July 15 at 6.30pm.
