THE Abbey Inn played host to another great night of fundraising on Wednesday night.
The quiz in aid of Kerry Hospice and the Marymount Hospice in Cork drew a large number of tables thanks to Leith resident, Sarah O’ Donnell, who wanted to organise the event to help out the two organisations which are very close to her heart.
“It was absolutely fantastic. I was blown away by the response on the night,” said Sarah. “We managed to raise about €700 which is absolutely brilliant. We had about 18 full tables, the Abbey Inn reckons that the biggest they’ve ever had is eight tables, so we’ve certainly beaten that anyway. It’s been a massive success,” said Sarah.
There were plenty of spot prizes available on the night which had been kindly donated by over 20 different Kerry businesses.
Couple this with the good crowd on the night and you had yourself a great event for a fantastic cause.
