THEY were blessed with dry weather on Saturday as families made their way to St John’s Church on Castle Street for the annual CBS Primary First Holy Communion Day.

Teachers Ciara Griffin and Gearóid O’Sullivan had their second class pupils well prepared to receive the sacrament, with Fr Tadhg Fitzgerald the celebrant for the ceremony.

Afterwards, children and their families posed for photos before heading off to celebrate a momentous occasion in their young lives. Scroll down for photos…
