AND so the fun begins.
It was a busy day at Scoil Eoin on Thursday morning as around 90 children began the journey which will take them through the education system.
There were some anxious parents and no small amount of tears from adults and kids, as they said their goodbyes and left them in the capable hands of the Balloonagh school’s teachers.
“It’s amazing because it’s a different experience every year,” one of the Junior Infant class teachers, Siobhan Daly, told us as she arranged the class photo.
“In fairness, it went very well. There were a few tears by children as well as by parents but overall it was lovely. They’re very good. Most of them would have been to pre-school anyway, so they’re already used to it,” said Ms Daly.
Excited children no doubt bounded out of the school at midday to tell parents of the new friends they made, which will turn into lifelong friendships as the school years go by.
