IT was an atrocious night outside, but hundreds still came out to the Ballyroe Heights Hotel last night for ‘Mr & Mrs Strictly Come Dancing’ organised by Tralee Musical Society.
Married couples from all over town and beyond took part and had great fun on the dance floor watched by over 300 in the audience.
Four choreographers — Oliver Hurley, Honor Hurley, Jackie O’Mahoney and Tara Dore — put the couples through their paces over the past number of weeks and it certainly paid off on the night with exhilarating performances.

The judges — General Manager of The Kerryman Siobhan Murphy, ex-councillor Toireasa Ferris, Carmel Russel of That’s Perfect and former Dancing With The Stars winner Aidan O’Mahony — had a tough task selecting a winner but were aide by a public vote and a special ‘Mr & Mrs’ question round.
In the end Christopher and Claire McDonald were declared the winners and popular ones at that!
The couples taking part were Sam and Annie Locke, Paul and Aileen Riordan, JJ and Jill Coffey, Declan and Ann Smith, Maureen and Derry Fleming, Ken and Emer Tobin, Martin and Melissa Nix, Eugene and Susan Farrelly and Claire and Christopher McDonald.
The event was held to help fund Tralee Musical Society’s next production of ‘Ghost – The Musical’, adapted from the hit 1990 romantic fantasy thriller film, in April 2020. Scroll down for photos…
