IT was a full house in the Brandon Hotel Conference Centre last night for the Lee Strand Protein+ Milk Katie Taylor v Queen Underwood bout.

The Olympic champion recorded her 61st consecutive win in the ring by beating the American on points and there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening generated by the 800 people present.

Fresh from beating Serbian native Jelina Jelic at a show in the Mallow GAA Complex the night before, the Irish hero got a rapturous reception when she entered the arena and over the four rounds she won the fight on an unanimous decision against Underwood, who indicated it was her last fight as an amateur.
