EVENT Management students from the Kerry College of Further Education (KCFE) organised a week of events to promote Mental Health awareness this week.
The 3k fun run took place on Wednesday with all proceeds going to the Tralee branch of Pieta House.
The whole event was planned, organised and run solely by the Event Management students.
Noreen O’Sullivan, one of the students managing the event, said that they chose to raise funds for Pieta House because of the support and aid they give to the youth of Tralee all year round. Pieta House will use the funds to furnish new counselling rooms in the area.

Tomorrow they will hold a talk on Mental Health awareness and coping strategies in relation to exam stress, with Hotel & Catering/Professional Cookery students providing healthy snacks in the Canteen afterwards. Earlier in the week they held exercise demonstrations, a mental health awareness talk from Jigsaw Kerry and a teachers v students tug o war and obstacle course.
CH Chemists, Tesco, Boots, Horans Health Food Shop and Dunnes all donated prizes for the fun run event. Ger Hussey, a local business owner, sponsored the refreshments for the day. Scroll down for photos…
