THEY may not have come away with the win, but they certainly had great support in Croke Park on Sunday afternoon.
There was a big contingent of Kerins O’Rahillys fans in the Hogan Stand cheering on their side in their All-Ireland club semi-final against Kilmacud Crokes, but it ultimately ended in disappointment for the Blues.
While the Tralee side were in touch at the short whistle trailing by just two points (0-8 to 0-6), the Dubliners pulled away early in the second half with and led by six points (1-10 to 0-7) after 40 minutes, with Hugh Kenny netting for Crokes.
The sides traded scores until the final stages, but then Rahillys had a late flurry of scores to narrow the gap to three points to set up a grandstand finish.
They had a couple of chances for a late goal to level things up, but it wasn’t to be and the hot favourites won by 1-14 to 0-14.
