THE students of the QQI Level 5 Professional Cookery and Hospitality Operations course at Kerry College pulled out all the stops on Thursday at a special fundraiser with all proceeds going to Tony Noonan’s Christmas Lights Charity.

There was a get-together for staff and students in the main canteen of the Clash Campus where guest speaker was Tony Noonan from Templeglantine, with tasty treats were served and donations encouraged. Eventually, €335.31 was raised.

Tony —who spectacularly lights up his home every year and welcomes donations to charities  Recovery Haven Cancer Support House; Slí Eile, Churchtown, Co. Cork; Limerick Suicide Watch and Milford Care Centre — spoke passionately about the impact that this fundraiser would have for the four beneficiaries.

He commended the initiative and drive shown by the student body. According to Tony it’s people like those in Kerry College who make a powerful difference to others lives at Christmas.

A donation box was available on the day and people could also make donations on https://www.facebook.com/tonynoonanxmaslights/

Students of the QQI Level 5 Professional Cookery and Hospitality Operations course  hosted a coffee morning in the college restaurant ‘Restaurant 22’ and held a raffle also with all proceeds going to Tony Noonan charity efforts.
