THE hurling-mad parish of Kilmoyley held their 53rd annual social last night in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel and it was a typically great occasion.
The club social, which also celebrated 125 years of GAA, was attended by the young and not so young and the special guests on the night were the U21 hurling team of 1974 which brought the first NK u21 title to the parish.

Players from this team travelled from different parts of Ireland, but special praise has to be given to Johnny Regan and John Young who both travelled from Boston for the occasion.
Each player was presented with a plaque to commerate the event.
The players of both the Senior and Intermediate panels selected their Player Of The Year. Sean Dowling (senior) and Conor Fitzell (intermediate) were the chosen players.
It was the first time the club introduced a Hall of Fame award and it gave the committee great pleasure to present it to Club President Den (Denis) Young.
Den, who is in his 90s, attended with family and got a standing ovation on the presentation.
The club would like to thank everyone who attended on the night.
