WE’VE had Lip Sync Battles and Strictly Come Dancing, but they do things differently in Abbeydorney when it comes to big fundraisers.
On Friday night, the teams in the forthcoming ‘Battle Of The Parish’ – to take place in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel on October 30 – were announced at a launch in the hotel by Murt Murphy, who will be a judge in the competition along with other ‘celebrity’ adjudicators yet to be announced.
The ‘Battle of the Parish’ – to raise funds for development of the development of Abbeydorney GAA Club’s Tom Healy Park – will consist of eight teams who will each perform an eight minute dance, song or comedy/drama routine from a movie.

The routines will be choreographed by Joe Burkett and rehearsals begin next week. The public will get a chance to vote for the teams on the night. MC for the night will be Conor Kearney.
