THE Tralee Parnells GAA Club faithful gathered in The Ashe Hotel on Saturday night for a special part night to launch the adult teams in hurling and camogie.

There was a large turnout of men and women on the adult teams, underage players from the teenage teams, parents of younger players, supporters, volunteers and friends.

Club PRO, Mike Roger O’Sullivan, said it was also a celebration of how far the club has come since it was reformed in 2012.

“In seven years we’ve gone from a nursery to an adult so all the hard work has paid off. We’ve had a number of adult team matches already, starting against Lixnaw, so it was a great experience for the young lads who have come up through underage. There’s good work going on in the club on the field and behind the scenes.”

On the night, Club Chairman, Dermot Reen, welcomed all and reflected on the progress made since 2012.

Sonny Egan from the Crotta O’Neills club, a renowned singer and raconteur, was a guest on the night and gave a recitation of the poem ‘The Resurrection of Kate Finucane’ by  Professor Brendan Kennelly.

A DJ kept the crowd entertained on a night of fun for all involved with Tralee Parnells. Scroll down for photos…
