THE weather dried up just in time for the start of the seventh annual Recovery Haven ‘Celebration of Light’ at Tralee Bay Wetlands on Wednesday night.
It had rained heavily about a half an hour beforehand and things weren’t looking good for those present, but thankfully the rain subsided and the hundreds took part in the ceremony, including several Roses and their escorts.
MC’d by Sinead Cotter, she introduced speakers Marian Barnes from Recovery Haven and Chief Executive of the Rose of Tralee Festival, Anthony O’Gara as the ceremony is held in conjunction with the Festival and Kerry Choral Union who provided beautiful songs during the evening.

The candle-lighting ceremony has become a hugely important event for those touched by cancer, offering them a welcome opportunity to come together to share experiences and celebrate the lives of family and friends.
People were able to buy the candles on site and they were released into the water helped by members of Banna Rescue. Scroll down for photos…
