THE youngest members of the Kerins O’Rahillys Club were in fine voice on Sunday morning when they got together for a show of colour ahead of the county final.

A Radio Kerry crew was present to get the views of the ‘Narríns’ ahead of the clash with their great rivals and confidence was high with the little ones.

Rob Lacey has just taken over as the new Chairman of the Juvenile Club from Adrian Doody and he said the atmosphere is incredible at the moment.

“There’s huge excitement here, you could see it after the semi-final against Crokes when they rushed on to the pitch. It was amazing,” said Rob.

“It’s been a long time since the last county final and none of the kids would have experienced this before, to see a winning senior team into the final.

It’s fantastic for them and they have new heroes and they want to emulate. It makes our job easier to keep them playing and hopefully someday make them into senior players. A huge contingent will go to the game and the flags and bunting is going up all over the community ahead of Sunday,” he added. I genuinely hope Strand Road win on Sunday. Their current squad is very unfortunate to be without at least one county championship. As a former panellist I wish them a comprehensive victory Sunday. Many of their players have given great service to the GAA and it would be a fitting tribute.
