Presentation Secondary School Teacher Killed In Car Accident

garda_1THE woman who died the car crash on Saturday morning at Ballincrossig Cross has been named as 50 year old Catriona Dowling (nee Boyle) of Ballyduff.

Originally from Dublin, but living in Kerry for many years, Mrs Dowling, a mother of three, was a German teacher in Presentation Secondary School in Tralee.

The single vehicle crash happened on the Ballyduff to Tralee road at Ballincrossig Cross, Lixnaw before 9am on Saturday morning.

Ms Dowling was fatally injured and the two teenaged passengers were removed by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital. Their condition is not known.

This is the second road accident in less than a month in which a teacher from the Presentation schools in Tralee has died.

On November 18, 60 year old Geraldine Murphy, of Ashleigh Downes, Tralee, a former teacher in Presentation Primary School in Tralee, died when she was struck by a car in Manor West Retail Park.
