PRESENTATION students raised €380 for the Inspired Group during National Flag day back in March and handed over the cheque on Friday last.

Teacher, Margaret Barry, explained how the fifth year history students raised the funds.

“Presentation Tralee is associated with the Thomas Francis Maher Foundation which aims to promote active citizenship among the students under the inclusive banner of the tricolour. The students sold flag pins provided by the Foundation,” said Ms Barry.

They chose Inspired because they were aware that the young people in the group do not receive any funding from the Government. Members of the group were at the school on Friday and were delighted to accept the cheque.

Inspired is a community-based project that aims to develop the employment, education and personal development skills of adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Inspired group has a photographic exhibition in No.4 The Square, Tralee on Wednesday, May 16 from 10am to 2pm.

All photographs are for sale and were taken by the members and feature interesting images of the community and countryside.
