The Gaisce or ‘great achievement’ is a self-development programme for young people between the ages of 15-25 and has been in existence since 1985.

Over the 16 week programme, students completed a personal skill (learning a language, baking etc.) for one hour a week, a physical skill which could be taking part in a sport or gym work, while the community involvement aspect entailed volunteering for a charity or helping out in the breakfast club in the school.
