Public Meeting On Future Of Tralee To Take Place On Monday

.

A MEETING where people are invited to share their views, generate ideas and foster a greater sense of community in Tralee will take place this Monday in the KDYS at 7.30pm.

The ‘Tralee Town Public Meeting’ has been organised by Bairbre de Bairead along with a committee of people who have come on board and have been planning the event for weeks.

The aim of the movement is to foster a sense of community in town. They say that currently there isn’t much of an outlet for youths in town and it is leading to problems, but this is just one of many issues which will be spoken about on the night.

The meeting is sure to see many ideas thrown out for public discussion, these include a proposal for a Street Art Festival, public events such as open mic nights in the park and a discussion around the devleopment of The Island of Geese site.

Many business owners and local councillors have already pledged support and some of the night’s speakers will be Alex and Dylan Nealon (the boys who organised the canal clean up) and a representative from The Women’s Resource Centre, while local councillors and TDs have also been invited as well as many representatives from businesses in the area.

They are trying to get as many people interested and involved as possible, so everyone is invited to come along and have their say.
