Causeway 3-16

St. Brendan’s 0-14

Both games in the Garveys Supervalu Kerry Hurling championship today finished with the same scoreline.

St Brendan’s operated for most of the second half with 14 men but basic errors and poor decision making was more the cause of their defeat than the loss of a player.

Causeway increased their intensity from their defeat to Kilmoyley and were much more economical in front of goal reducing their wide count to ten today.

The Causeway goal scorers were Joe Diggins, Sean Leahy and Colum Harty. The Colum Harty goal was gifted to him by a cross field ball straight to his hand from a St Brendan’s defender and to compound the error, the St Brendan’s keeper had moved out field to present himself for a pass leaving Harty with an empty net to strike the ball into.

St Brendan’s will now face Kilmoyley next weekend, they will need a big win to progress.
