GARDAÍ in Wexford are investigating a fatal road traffic collision in which a Castlemaine woman died in the early hours of Friday morning.

The woman has been named as Linda Griffin, who was in her early 30s, from Lassaboy in Castlemaine.

The collision occurred at Kellystown, Drinagh on the Wexford to Rosslare Road N25 (just on the outskirts of Wexford Town) at approximately 1.30am. A car collided with Ms Griffin.  She was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital.

The male driver (21 years) the sole occupant was was uninjured in the collision.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
