THERE was a fantastic treat for the pupils of Blennerville National School on Friday when Kerry star, James O’Donoghue, visited to raise their Active Schools Flag and their second Green Flag for Conserving Energy in our Environment.

O’Donoghue spoke to the children about the importance of staying active and if they were ever out kicking ball to make sure to practice with their left and right feet.

In capturing the Active Flag, Blennerville, teamed up with local running group ‘Born to Run’ as part of an initiative that saw pupils in the school running the length and breath of the area over the course of the year.
Their Blennerville National School 5k/10k Road Race will take place on Sunday June 28 and take off from Blennerville Windmill at 10am (see previous story here).
