U14 TEAMS from Kerry, Dublin and Limerick will contest the Oaklands Daybreak Rose Cup Boys Football Tournament during the 2015 Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Now in its seventh year, this competition is a prestigious event on the GAA Juvenile calendar in Ireland and it will be organised by Coiste Trá Lí under the banner of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Plans for this year’s event are at an advanced stage but it will see 16 teams from Kerry, Dublin and Limerick battling it out for the Rose Cup and Rose Shield.

The Tralee area teams taking part will be, Kerins O’Rahilly’s, Austin Stacks, Na Gaeil, Churchill and Ballymac. From further field coming to the tournament are South Liberties from Limerick and St Maurs from Dublin.

Other Kerry clubs include, Dr Crokes, Legion and An Gaeltacht so you can expect the standard of competition to be high. Indeed, last year’s Rose Cup champions, Austin Stacks, have gone on to sweep the boards in 2015, claiming a national Feile title. Na Gaeil meanwhile are the current holders of the Rose Shield.

Each team will play three games of 20 minutes and the top teams will compete for the Rose Cup and Rose Shield. These will be presented to the winning captains by the 2014 Rose of Tralee, Marie Walsh and the proprietor of Oaklands Daybreak on the Listowel Road, James O’Donoghue.

The matches will get underway on Saturday August 15 at two Tralee GAA venues – Kerins O’Rahilly’s and Na Gaeil.
