COMPLETION of the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence training facilities building at Currans has been delayed.

Kerry teams were expected to begin using the the €5 million development by the end of this year and Spring 2017 but county development officer, Tim Murphy has warned that may not occur until the middle of next year.

The clubhouse at Currans was due to be fully completed by October this year but unfortunately the work has been delayed for about three months.

According to the Irish Examiner, Tim Murphy told the meeting of the Kerry County Board on Tuesday night that it would be delayed by three months and it could be the middle of next year before Kerry teams train there.

The Currans facility near Farranfore is one part of the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence, the other being the GAA Centre at the IT Tralee Sports Acadamy where work is also underway.
