Sixteen Teams To Battle It Out For The Rose Cup

THE GAA Rose Cup is back for 2023 with the launch taking place last Friday at the Bon Secours Hospital.

The Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee is the main sponsor with Under 13 teams from Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Cork contesting th Cup .

This competition is a prestigious event on the GAA Juvenile calendar in Kerry, organised by Coiste Tra Li in association with the Rose of Tralee Festival. Sixteen teams will be battling it out for the Rose Cup and Rose Shield.

Last year John Mitchels of Tralee won the Rose Cup with Douglas of Cork winning the Shield.

The standard of competition is excepted high again this year with local clubs like Austin Stacks, John Mitchels, Listowel, Ballymac and Keel/Listry joined by sides from further field such as Fr Casey’s Abbeyfeale from Limerick, Douglas from Cork and St James from Co Galway coming to the tournament

At the launch last week were representatives from Coiste Tra Li, Bon Secours management and players from local GAA Clubs.

The matches will get underway on Saturday August 19th at two Tralee GAA venues – Na Gaeil and Kerins O’Rahilly’s — from 10:30am. The Rose of Tralee 2022 will present the winning teams with their medals later that day.
