IF you were around town on Tuesday evening, you might have seen and heard a lot of bikers around the Bridge Street/Russell Street area.

It was all part of ‘BarbersRide’ which every year sees barbers from the UK combine their love of biking and barbering with a fundraising charity event, this year in aid of the Make A Wish Foundation.

This year they travelled to Ireland and one of the stops on their tour was at T McMahons Barbershop on Russell Street.

Tony McMahon was a proud host to the 45 bikers who arrived in style and they stayed on the street and in the shop to refresh with some beverages. Then it was down to McCafferys bar where the party continued.

They left early the next morning for Wexford before the final night in Dublin at Sam’s Barbers.

Tony himself has been raising funds over the past week for Make A Wish Foundation by donating his takings from a Saturday a few weeks ago and raffling off  signed Kerry GAA and Kerry FC jerseys.
