A WOMAN has told of her shock after a racist verbal attack in Tralee about her support for the Kerry team.
Speaking on Radio Kerry’s ‘Kerry Today’ programme this morning, Beverly, who is originally from South Africa, was putting a Kerry flag on her car in Tralee when a passer-by told her to get her ‘filthy hands off the flag’.
She told host Jerry O’Sullivan, that she and her Irish husband Dermot were then subjected to a tirade of verbal abuse by the man.
She said passers-by came to a standstill to witness the incident which left Beverly and her husband in shock.
Thankfully, the incident won’t stop Beverley – who has been living here for 15 years and has Irish citizenship – from supporting the Kerry team.
