A TREE outside the old Tralee Town Council building will once again be a focal point to remember those who have lost their lives to suicide with a special ceremony this Sunday.
Over the last number of years the tree has served as a poignant reminder and a special service will take place on Sunday, December 10, at 3pm at the building on Princes Street to begin the act of remembrance. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Those who have lost a loved one or have been affected by suicide are encouraged to come and drop a special ornament on the tree throughout Christmas to act as a symbol of remembrance to those who have passed away.
The woman behind the ‘Remembrance Tree’ is Sharon Roche from Tralee. Her son, Sean, died by suicide in 2011, and she is hoping people from all over the county will come along for the short service.
People can call to the tree anytime over the following three weeks if they want to privately place an ornament. The importance of the tree is the comfort it gives to families and individuals throughout Tralee and Kerry.
Numbers are so high. I’ll be thinking of ye as won’t be in county.
Thanks Dermot
