PRESENTATION Secondary School in Tralee will host an open night this Thursday from 5.30pm to showcase the facilities and all the school can offer children starting second level education.

Of the five Kerry students who scored 625 points in the Leaving Cert 2019, two were from Pres Tralee

Registration is at 5.30pm, followed by the Principal’s Address from 6pm to 6.45pm, while Guided Tours of the school will commence from 6.45pm to 8.30pm.

Pres Girls are proud recipients of a whole myriad of scholarships and awards including University Entrance Scholarships, JP McManus All Ireland Scholarships and 1916 Easter Week Commemoration Scholarships.

Students have won many national competitions, e.g. BT Young Scientist, ECO UNESCO, AIB Build a Bank etc.

The ‘Tús Maith’ programme ensures that the transition from Primary to Secondary school is well catered for with a week-long induction programme for first year students, helping them settle, embrace and enjoy their new school environment.

Exam Success in Pres Tralee

  Only 5 students in Kerry scored 625 points this year – two of them were from our school

  This year we had 4 students who scored more than 600 points.

  We far exceed the national averages for students who score more than 400 points, more than 500 points and more than 600 points in their Leaving Certificate.

  98% of our Leaving Cert students have now progressed to further education.

Educational developments in Pres Tralee

  We have introduced Short Courses in Physical Education, Coding and Artistic Performance. Students also study Animation, Coding, I.T. Technical Graphics, Agricultural Science, Exam Religion, Performing Arts and Creative Writing

  Our Transition year is reviewed from year to year to ensure it best meets the needs of students preparing to enter Senior Cycle

  We have a school co-operation scheme, running between Pres Tralee and CBS the Green in a number of subjects such as, Design and Computer Graphics, Construction Studies, IT Multi-Media, Choir and Home Economics.

Pres Tralee – a Caring School

  There are clear and defined support systems in our school – such as the Junior and Senior Care Teams, Student Support Team, Behaviour Support Team. Our continuum of provision for students includes School Guidance and Counselling, supports for students with additional learning needs, smaller classes, Learning Support and Team Teaching.

  Having gained our first Amber Flag for School Wellbeing and mental health awareness, we are delightedto be part of the Nationwide pilot project ‘One Good School’ run by Jigsaw.

  We have a large and active Student Representative Council and a wide and varied programme of extra- curricular events such as basketball, spikeball, camogie, football, badminton, futsol, keep fit, creative writing, arts and crafts, public speaking, coding club, camera club, maths club, science club, Green Flag, gardening club and much more.

  Presentations teams and groups have won awards at local, country, provincial national and international levels.

  We celebrate throughout the year with our spotlight events including; Love Literature, Wellbeing Week, Science Week, Maths Week, Catholic School’s Week, Seachtain na Gaeilge, European Language Day, International Culture Day and more.
