REPORTS ;
(U15) Premier ,
Mastergeeha 0-1 Park A ;
Another step in the journey for these young men as they continue their quest for their first league title. This trip to Mastergeeha turned out to be a good test for Park as they had to find a solution to unlock the defence of the organised and determined home outfit. The notes for this game read like it was a one v one for the majority of the contest. Niall Sertutxa for the Park vs. the outstanding young Mastergeeha keeper. Sertutxa had six different chances in the first half to put Park ahead but the crossbar, the keeper and a marginal offside kept the young Milltown man off the score sheet. Matt Lukco and Michael Slattery were others to test the keeper but as the teams departed for the half time break its safe to say Mastergeeha would have been the happier of the two sides. Park were playing some fine soccer and remaining patient but sometimes doubt starts to creep in when chances aren’t being converted. Not with this team. Superb defending from Matt Lukco, Dan Goggin, Adam Ward, James Rusk and the outstanding Dylan Casey meant that Thomas Burke was never under pressure in the Park goals. Michael Slattery was beginning to torment the Mastergeeha defence and it was his free kick in the 23rd minute of the second half which Sean Carmody knocked down to Dylan Casey for the opening and only score of the game. A poacher’s finish from an excellent gamekeeper. Casey then had a fine free kick parried by the keeper and the young Mastergeeha man was up bravely and quickly to save at the feet of the inrushing Sertutxa. Sertutxa had one final chance to kill off the game for the Park but a horrible bounce at the wrong time caused the ball to end up flying wide. It would gave been easy for Niall to get frustrated and throw the towel in when things weren’t going right for him but this man is made of sterner stuff. He continued to work hard for the team throughout, caused loads of problems for the Mastergeeha defence and never shirked the responsibility to take on a chance. He is on the cusp of bagging a hatful. Great to see Ruairi O’Kelly back in action and making a very impressive return after a long injury layoff. Overall a good game, plenty of good soccer and chances created from the Park but they will need to improve in front of goal. Thanks a million to Inîgo, Helen, Fiona, Aidan and Paudie for driving. Your help is much appreciated. We have been drawn away to Listowel Celtic in the cup and our three remaining fixtures in the league are away to Listowel Celtic and at home to Killarney Celtic and Tralee Dynamos. Panel: Thomas Burke, James Rusk, Matt Lukco, Dylan Casey, Adam Ward, Dan Goggin, Sean Carmody, Michael O’Gara, Michael Slattery, Jakub Zlotocki, Niall Sertutxa, Raul Vnczel and Ruairi O’Kelly. Gearoid, Kevin, Robin, Jake and Alfie were missing for a variety of reasons.

Castleisland 7-1 Park B ;
It was a beautiful saturday afternoon for a game of soccer ,the game got under way with Castleisland making a early dash for the Park goalbut the shot on goal goes wide.The ball is kicked out by Aaron Jack tries to bring it under control but miss kicks it and the Castleisland forward takes advantage of this mistake and rounds the keeper to make it 1-0  Castleisland. Josh runs down the sidelineand slots the ball into Nemanja but his shot goes wide. Park get the ball out on the wing and with Edward under pressure he passes the ball back to his keeper but with the pitch being very soft the ball travelled very slow and the Castleisland forward  made no mistake  in putting it in the back of the net 2-0 Castleisland. Another attack sees Aaron make a save from the forwards shot,the ball goes up the field and John is brought down a free to Park which James takes but it was saved by the keeper.Dylan takes a goal kick but unfortunately he couldn’t get enough height on the ball and it fell to a Castleisland player who put it in the net 3-0. Conor has a shot on goal but the keeper saves ,Dean clears the ball to Shane he puts it through to Conor who passes to John but the keeper saves . Castleisland make another attack on Park’s goal and make it 4-0. Despite Park having a lot of the play they had a few shots on target but couldn’t find the back of the net. Another attack by Castleisland saw them bring their total to 5-0  then just before half time John is brought down in the penalty area  and just when it looked like  Park were going to get on the score sheet the keeper makes a great save . The second half gets under way Aaron kicks the ball to Mike who runs down the wing and passes to James who shoots and the keeper saves. Castleisland mount another attack and as Jack goes to clear it he slips over and the forward takes the ball and crosses it into one of his team mates who slots it into the net 6-0 .  Aaron passes the ball out to Dean to Josh  who passes into Nemanja he heads the ball to Conor but his shot is saved by the keeper Park on the attack again Sean puts the ball through to John who has his shot saved by the keeper. Castleisland get the ball again and run down the wing  and pass it into the centre of the box and once again the forward hits the back of the net 7-0  Conor takes a corner and as the ball comes across the box Nemanja hits the ball but it hits the side netting..Park are having plenty of the play but are unable to find the net ,but just when it looked like they would end without a goal there was another attack by Park and after a few scuffles in the box and James managed to get a foot to it  and make the final score 7-1. Despite the high score line it did not reflect the game and Park had a good majority of the play but they found it difficult on a very soft pitch to  play to their recent form  and maybe with a bit of luck they could have had another few goals but Castleisland were the stronger team on the day. Team ; Aaron ,Dean , James , Jack , Edward , John , Shane , Dylan ,Josh , Conor , Nemanja , Sean , Mike .

Tralee Dynamos 2 – 4 Park FC ;
The park Lads were away to our neighbours Tralee Dynamos yesterday in a battle for top spot in the league, the Park needed a victory to keep their chances of being in the mix for the League honours.On the other hand Dynamos were also out to avenge a National Cup defeat to the Park earlier in the season, add in the local derby effect and it was bound to serve up a cracking game and by God that it did with the Park Lads just getting over the line in the end to take the bragging rights back to Christy Leahy Park. The Park started with great purpose and confidence with a sublime passing game cutting open the Dynamos defence at every break and should have been on the score sheet early on with chances from Mervin,Liam and Sean failing to hit the target. All the pressure was coming from the Park midfied and front men and it finally paid off, a through ball from colin to Sean who took it on to the left end line dragged the ball back out to the oncoming Junior who slotted it past the keeper for his first goal of the season, 1 nil up. The Park continued to pressurise from all flanks and thru the middle but failed to convert some gilt edged chances from play. It took a toe poke from Mervin in a goal mouth scramle from a Kevin G corner on the 25min mark for the Park to double their advantage 2 nil up,  this seemed to break the spirit of the Dynamos players and 2 mins later a superb cross field ball was taken under control by Sean and drilled to the left of the keeper, 3-0 to the Park. The Park hitmen were now starting to find the target and a great save from the home keeper from a blistering strike from Mervin kept the scoreline to 3 at the break. They talk about a game of 2 halves and this was certainly one of them, the half time break seemed to disrupt the lads and the fine flowing play seem to vanish certainly after the a couple of mins into the half, the park created little and seemed to be playing with a nervousness, dynamos on the other hand came out with nothing to lose and started to pour on the pressure at midfield and upfront, to be fair the Park defence stoofd up well to the challenge but you felt a goal was on the cards, a mistake on the left side handed possession to the the home side and they duly punished the visitors 1-3 and Dynamos could sense a rival, on the 15 mins mark it was 2-3 and game on, the park lads continued to battle under the onslaught as the home side pressed forward for the equaliser, the Park hit on the counter with 8 mins left on the clock, colin chipping the keeper and the defence and keeper getting in a tangle to keep the ball from going over the line gave the park a 2 goal advantage again and this seemed to drain the spirit from the Dynamos lads. The final score 4-2 to the Park. An impressive 1st half display of total football by the lads that would have impressed “The Great Cruyff”, unfortunately the 2nd half proved to be a dog fight with the lads have to dig deep to take the result. The next match will be the Kerry Cup Quarter’s at home to Dingle Bay Rovers. Players of Note: Sean, Mervin, Kevin, Darra, Junior ,Tide, Rhys . Man of the Match was Colin Walsh, controlled midfield in the first half, great work rate particularly in 2nd half, superb defensive work. Squad on the Day:Gavin Doody, Kevin Goulding, Armin Heinrich, Junior Ankomah, Colin Walsh,  Mervyn Shalemba, Nathan Gleeson, Liam Tobin, Sean McGrath, Greg Scanlon, Conor O’ Sullivan, Tide Osinubi, Rhys Keane, Darragh Moriarty, Cian Purcell (Injured). Reminder: Training times next will be Mon and Fri @ 7-8pm. For the continued success of the Squad, all players must attend all training sessions.
