REPORTS ;
(Senior) Premier A ;
Tralee Dynamos 0-3 St Brendans Park Fc ,

St Brendans Park Fc took all the honours and bragging rights today in the Tralee derby after a fantastic team performance against neighbours Tralee Dynamos . In truth the Park always look dangerous when they went at the Dynamos defence with pace especially with the on form Fergal Maunsel leading the line .

The Parks first chance came in the opening five minutes when Ryan Downey squared the ball to David Courtney whose first time shot from outside the box was only stopped by the crossbar with the keeper looking on helplessly . Jamie Kelly produced a full stretch save to tip the ball around the post to keep the game level minutes later . The Park took the lead just before the twenty minute mark when a Fergal Maunsel corner was powered home from the head of Martin Bowler .

The Park now began to hit their opponents on the break and it wasn’t long before the lead was doubled . Ryan Downey picked out the Run of Fergal Maunsel with a ball over the of the Dynamos defence and with his pace from just inside the half Fergal left three defenders trailing behind and superbly curled the ball into the far top corner passed the advancing keeper . Dynamos nearly pulled a goal back just before the break but again Jamie Kelly saved brilliantly as his tipped over from close range to send the Park in at half time ahead by two goals to nil .

The second half saw the Park sit back and easily soak up any pressure that was sent towards them and with players like David Courtney , Jesse o Sullivan and Mike Conway backing up Maunsel the Park always looked dangerous on the break . Martin Bowler nearly scored his second of the game but his glancing header was just over from a Ryan Downy corner . As the half wore on the Dynamos pushed more and more men forward but the back four of James o Sullivan , David Magee, Martin Bowler and Graham o Leary seemed to be very calm and handled any danger brilliantly . Martin Bowler denied a certain goal with a last ditch sliding tackle with fifteen minutes remaining .

On the very rare occasions that the Dynamos got in behind the Park defence they found Jamie Kelly in excellent form and with another save from close range in the final ten minutes he made sure of an excellent team clean sheet .

The final nail in the Dynamos coffin came with two remaining when David Courtney intercepted a ball out of the Dynamos defence and sent Fergal Maunsel through on goal . Maunsel’s shot was saved but Courtney followed up to send the rebound home . David’s goal celebration saw him remove his jersey and for this he received his second yellow card which was the only negative point from the game .

An all round team performance which must be very pleasing for the team management of Robert Powell and Peter Williams where everyone played their part including our two subs Scott Hennessey and Brendan Coffey who were introduced during the game . This win moves the Park into joint fourth in the league standings with eight games remaining . Team ; Jamie Kelly , James o Sullivan , David Magee , Martin Bowler , Graham o Leary , Jesse o Sullivan , Mark O Sullivan , Mike Conway , David Courtney , Ryan Downey , Fergal Maunsel . Subs , Scott Hennessey for Mark o Sullivan ( 26 mins ) , Brendan Coffey for Jesse o Sullivan ( 60 mins ) .

(U12) Shield ;
Tralee Dynamos B 0-12 Park B ,
The 21st of March was like a beautiful summers day for the shield tie between Tralee Dynamos and Park under 12B derby at Dynamos ground. The game got under way just before noon. From the start Park were in attack with some beautiful football. After 5 minutes a kick out from the Dynamos keeper was intercepted by David (Tiny) Callaghan who put the ball in the back of the dynamos net to make it 0-1. Shortly after that a lovely corner by Robert Vassiu saw Earnan Ferris head the ball into the back of the net.

The game continued with lovely passing by the Park squad play one tow’s and when Robert took a free kick Matt Healy was there to make it 0-3. A little later TJ Heaphy playing left full back raced down the wing and crossed the ball to Robert who scored a lovely goal. Just before half time another wonderful cross from Robert saw Matt score his second, making it 0-5 at half time. The second half took up where the first left off, Danny Graney who was introduced at half time got on the end of a Leon Daly cross and scored after only being on the pitch for a minute.

At this stage Park had so much of the ball it was almost like the 4-4-2 formation had become a 2-4-4 with defenders TJ moving forward from left back to play on the wing and the right back doing the same, wingers were moving into striking positions and the two centre backs Ryan Guerin and James Charles were well able to defend any attacks mounted by Dynamos. Earnan had almost become a striker and took a lovely cross from Robert with his head and smashed the ball into the back of the net.

Shortly after that Earnan was taken down in the penalty area and James took the penalty which he stuck into the corner of the net. 5 minutes later a loose ball in the penalty area was collected by Matt who tapped it into the net. With 10 minutes left Matt took a volley and blasted the back of the net making it his fourth of the game. Only 5 minutes to go and another splendid cross from Robert saw Danny score his second. After all his good work just before the final whistle Robert scored his second making the final score Dynamos 0 Park 12. The game was pleasure to watch, lovely flowing football and everybody having a great game. Earnan and Tiny narrowly missing some shots which just went wide. All players made a valuable contribution with outstanding performances from Robert, Earnan and TJ. Well done to all.
