REPORTS
(U14) Premier ;
Killarney Celtic A 2-1 Park Fc A ,
This game was a great advert for schoolboy soccer with the two top teams at this age category going head to head.Celtic shaded the first half possession with Park hitting them on the counter but both sides failed to test the keepers, scoreless at the break. Park made two changes at the break bringing in Poga McCannon and Mervin Shalamba and there was an immediate impact with both combining setting up Sean McGrath who rifled a unstoppable left foot volley into the roof of the Celtic goal from the edge of the area giving Park the lead seven minutes into the second half. Celtic were dangerous from set pieces and they equalized with fifteen minutes left on the clock from an in-swinging corner that looked to be knocked into the Park net by a Thierry Henry style hand ball that saw Park players angry with the referee. Park had a couple of good chances to snatch the lead back but were guilty of not converting at least one of chances. The last kick of the game saw Celtic pump a long free into the Park area that unfortunately came of a Park defender for an own goal and the spoils went to Celtic. Best for Park were Paddy O Rourke , James Rusk, JR Tshikato, Sean McGrath . Man of the Match was Conor Myers .

(U14) Div 2 ;
St Bernards 0-2 St Brendan’s Park B
It was going to be a hard game, as St Bernard’s being one of the top teams in our Division. We went out expecting a hard and good game, St Bernard’s beat us last time round 4-2. We had to win this game to get third in our division. We started the game with a great defence and also a good attacking force. The first half was exciting and a lot of passing and defending kept us at bay, St Bernard’s had a chance but the defence kept them out, Park also had a chance with Padraig and Mark on the attack and with a bicycle kick but the keeper saved the shot. half time result 0-0 . Second half , Park new that St Bernard’s were able to be beaten and with the guidance of there Coach they went out ready to win the game. St Bernard’s had tip, Park soon disposed St Bernard’s from the ball, Park mid-field kept the ball and Padraig passed the ball to tony on the left wing and with a nice pass to Mark in the box and placed the ball bottom right corner. Game wasn’t over St Bernard’s wasn’t giving up. They went on the attack again and again, they got through but if it wasn’t for Joe in goal saving a blinding shot would have been 1-1. A lot of up and down field play and then another attack From St Bernard’s and yet again a nearly goal but yet again Joe saved the shot to have a clean sheet for this game, but Park was in control. 6 minutes to go the ball was passed around by Park and Josh passed the ball to Carl (Cj) and Carl (Cj) passed the ball to Samson who took on the defence got through and with a mighty strike which nearly broke the net 2-0.With extra time St Bernard’s were on the attack but we kept them out. Full Time Score 2-0. Proud of you Boy’s . Man of the Match: Dylan O’Brian (Poshy) . Team: Joe Hanafin, Josh Hayes, Brian Teahan, Daniel Fok-Seang, Dylan O’Brien, Cillian Ryan, Samson Ayavi, Padraig White, Tony Duggan, Mark Dziedziuch, Jack Murphy, Carl (Cj) Dziedziuch and Tennyson Efgbare. Once again Well done lads.

(U12) Div 2 ;
Park B 4-0 Asdee Rovers ,
Once the game started Park were off to a flying start attacking from the whistle. Most of the play took place in the Asdee half and after 10 minutes in a crowded penalty area almost as in slow motion Leon Daly got his foot to the ball and stuck it in the Asdee net. Park were playing very well with some well put together passes and using both wingers Leon Daly and Earnan Ferris who had excellent games and sent plenty of crosses into the box one of which was converted by David (Tiny) Callaghan. Half time saw park go in 2-0. The second half continued on where the first half left off with Park having most of the play. Half way through the half Tiny again won the ball and put it in the Asdee net to make it Tiny 2, Park 3. Asdee had some good attacking play after that but the two central defenders Ryan Guerin and James Charles were unpassable. The one time Asdee did break through the defence and were on target for a goal a magnificent save by keeper Huge Emmerson kept Parks sheet clean. A beautiful break through by Matt Healy saw a marvellous shot on goal saved by the Asdee keeper, shortly after a carbon copy saw Matts attempt saved again. 5 minutes later Tiny attacked and scored his hat trick to make it 4-0. Just after that Matt again sent in a smashing shot only to see it hit the upright. Matt just wasn’t destined to score but could as easily had a hat trick. Over all good play saw the game end 4-0 to Park. Well played everyone .
