(U12)Kerry Cup ,
Preliminary Round ; Mastergeeha A 3-1 Park B ,
Saturday morning was a cold and showery one for the first cup game of the season for Parks under 12 B team away to Mastergeeha. The game got off to a positive start for Park, playing against the wind and rain they had most of the possession and made most attacks in the opening 10 minutes. Then a break by Mastergeeha saw an attack on the Park goal, the keeper spilled the wet ball and it lingered on the goal line for what seemed like forever before being converted. 5 minutes later the same thing happened a break away saw Mastergeeha score again. Shortly after that Mastergeeha were awarded a soft penalty for a late chalange and it was converted. Half time score 3-0. After a team talk and two changes at half time Park started the second half with passion and had most of the play and made most attacks. With 12 minutes of the second half played Matt Healy scored a lovely goal, his seventh of the season and made it 3-1. Park continued to press and were unlucky not to score again with some shots just wide of the target. Man of the match was Ryan Guerin who was outstanding in defence. Final score Mastergeeha 3 Park 1.
