Community Games

VERY WELL DONE TO OUR 7 athletes who represented BLENNERVILLE/BALLYARD this morning in the Kerry community games X County running. The conditions dried up for us and allowed for a very enjoyable morning. First up in the girls U12 400m Niamh Murphy and Sophie Mulgrew ran a strong race, Niamh finishing with a bronze medal. Next Hugh Costello ran U12 boys 400m and earned his bronze medal and qualification.

Next up was Amy Noonan who ran a really strong race for girls U12 600m. She finished strongly earning a silver medal. In boys U12 600m Stephen Enright and Tommy Costello ran in a larger race with stiff competition, Tommy earned a bronze medal. The top 3 placings in U12 400m and U12 600m come together to make up the Kerry team to progress to Nationals. We are very proud to have 2 boys and 2 girls from Blennerville/ Ballyard in these teams.

Next up Dan O’Connor ran a tactical race in boys U14s 700m to finish 4th and qualify for Nationals. These athletes will now progress to represent Kerry in Nationals in Navan on Saturday 8th October. Congratulations to Justin o Halloran who placed 2nd in U16 freestyle swimming and Rihanna O Brien 2nd in U14 back stroke swimming which took place last weekend. Very well done to all.

High Vis required.
