Juvenile Academy

U5

Under 5s enjoyed a lovely sunny morning for training this weekend. We practiced our ball handling skills, handpass, high catch, pickup and more. We finished the session with a short match. Well done to our player of the week Siún.

U7 Boys/ U8 Girls

We had an excellent game against Austin stacks today. The weather was beautiful, all the boys and girls really enjoyed themselves, as well as working really hard on their skills.
We hope to play Ardfert on Thursday night this week. Big thanks to James who helped set up and to Joe, Paul, Noel, Mike, and Jonathan for helping out with the teams today

U9

We had another good session this morning where we started with a penalty shootout which Darragh Sheehan won, and we had a couple of warm up drills before we practiced moving into space and scoring goals. We played another competitive game where Tommy Flynn scored a brilliant hat trick and captains Paddy Costello and Michael Cotter played excellently. We will train again next weekend at 10.30am.

U10 Girls

U10 Girls trained Sunday morning 18th of September at St. Pats pitch. 11 girls played fun games coached by Kieran, Monica, and Nigel.  They worked on their kicking in front of the goal from the centre, left and right sides.

Also working on their attacking and defending in a new drill then finishing with a match. Well done to Jessica Lacey who won player of the week who impressed the coaches with her skills. Well done Jessica and everyone keep up the good work and keep up the practice at home. See ye all next week for our match vs John Mitchels.

U12 Girls

Our U12 Girls played John Mitchell’s at home on Tuesday night in the first game of the town league. John Mitchell’s were the stronger team on the night, However the St Pats girls gave 100% till the very end.

Well done to the whole team and a special mention to Lisa who recently joined us from the Ukraine and played her first match with St Pats, she proved a big asset to the team and also won player of the week for all her recent efforts.

The girls also took part in the club’s healthy initiative, couch to 5k on Thursday as part of their training session, Well done girls and trainers setting a great example for the club.

Next match in the town league is Tuesday at 6.30pm away to Na Gaeil.

U15

Training will continue in Blennerville at 5.30pm on Friday.

St Brendan’s

In Ardfert last Saturday evening St Brendan’s stepped out for their Round 2 of Garvey’s Supervalu Senior Football Championship against Templenoe. This game was kept level for the most part, St Brendan’s went ahead with two points and kept this till halftime.

Templenoe went ahead in the second half and St Brendan’s couldn’t keep up. As time dwindled down to the final whistle St Brendan’s got a couple of scores to bring it to a one-point difference. With not enough time on the clock to level the scoring Templenoe were the winners on a score line of St Brendan’s 1-12 Templenoe 3-07

St Pats B

Our seniors played last Friday night in a backgame of Tralee/St Brendan’s Junior League Ardfert were main scorers in this first half, but we did our best to keep our scores registering throughout this half with one point from Cillian O Riordan and 4 points for Eoin Greaney.

Ardfert scored 1 goal and nine points to stay ahead of us going into half time. St Pats 0-05 Ardfert 1-09

The second half started with two points from Ardfert and Eoin Greaney adding two of his own points. Ardfert were quick to add another point, but Martin Savage converted his shot into a point.

Ardfert were determined to keep the lead with another point, but Adrian Greaney added another point for us. Ardfert got three points in quick succession, Conor Moore added a point which was to be the last score of the game for either side. St Pats played very well but Ardfert were just too strong and came out the winners. St Pats 0-10 Ardfert 1-16

Sympathy

The club would like to extend its sympathy to the families and friends of Mike Farmer Lohercannon, Willie Hobbert St John’s Park and Richard Greer Connolly Park.
