Healthy Club Event

We look forward to continuing our Thursday evening couch to 5k at 7pm on Thursday evenings. We have 6 more training runs progressively increasing the running time with the finale being the Tralee Park Run on the 19th of November. These runs will go ahead in the rain unless there is a yellow/ orange or red weather warning!

End of Season Family Fun Event

Unfortunately, the best plans cannot account for the weather! Sunday proved just too wet with driving wind and heavy rain which left no choice but to cancel the fun outdoor obstacle course races and Parish league football matches. We will plan for a dry day in the spring sunshine instead!

The end of year certificate and medal presentations were well supported in the chockablock dressing rooms!

Thanks to our juvenile chairperson Mike Moriarty for organising this. We are very grateful that Kerry Players Diarmuid O’Connor and Stefan Okunbar gave up their time to inspire the academy players to follow in their footsteps and continue to grow & develop a love of sport and a healthy lifestyle.

.

We were honoured to have the Sam Maguire, the Munster Senior Champion Cup and The McGrath Cup for team, family photos and memories made. There was also information given about our Fundraiser at the end of the month our Race Night. Our Winner of our Halloween Hamper was Kelly Poff. Thank you to all those who came and supported the day despite the weather.

The Irish Life GAA healthy club Smoke and Vape free initiative is something we have now launched in St Pats. Thanks to all those who stayed around for our PR release photo which even Sam Maguire braved the rain for!

.

We will be asking all our future young stars to help us promote the club as Smoke and vape free going forwards. Thanks to the Irish Life Healthy Clubs nationwide for supplying the signage and social media animation. If this has inspired anyone to think about quitting, we refer you to this support network @hsequitteam

Thanks as always to Marie Fitzgibbon and Brigid O’Riordan and their team of help to provide us with delicious hot food for the morning event. We are very grateful for all the delicious food donated by parents. We have a great community network of volunteers in St Pats and appreciate all the efforts of parents, who though soaked, stayed to clean up!

Thanks so much to Tina O’Shea O’Reilly for giving up her time and face paints, we are very grateful to her for her artistic expertise and to the under 12 girls who helped her.

Lastly: Kerry Health and Wellbeing committee are in conjunction with the HSE Suicide Prevention Programme seeking expressions of interest in the provision of “SafeTalk” training in the County, please contact Fiona Costello on 0860588392 if you would be interested in attending a 3.5hr workshop in our community. Dates to be arranged pending interest.
