St Pats Race Night

On Sunday night we had our very first Race Night, there was a great turnout out with much of the wider community coming to enjoy the event. On the night we had Tim Moynihan as MC who did a wonderful job of guiding everyone through the night from calling out the up-and-coming race to helping make sure everyone got their bets in.

There were many prizes with raffles for spot prizes, prizes for Jockey, Trainer, and Owner but the most coveted prizes which people waited on was who won Best dressed lady and Gent. These prizes went to Norma Flynn and Eoin Sayers. Winner for our Hamper was Fiona Costello on the night.

There was great excitement as the night got closer to the last race our Auction Style, Tim Moynihan started the bidding for each horse in this race with names like Bomber Liston, Jack O Shea, Charlie Nelligan, David Clifford, Maurice Fitzgerald, Pat Spillane, Mikey Sheehy and the most important of all Liam Poff

Our auction race got underway with great cheers from the crowd when Liam Poff was ahead unfortunately he got pipped at the post much to the disappointment of those who had him. €900 was given out for our Auction Race once everything settled down after celebrations.

Finally a massive thank you to Tim Moynihan who was MC for the night, Tom Quane who provided food and the venue for the event, the race night committee for putting it all together and last but not least everyone who sponsored a race, took a full page advert, helped support us in any other way it was much appreciated. Also thank you to all those who came and supported the night.

U9’s and U11’s

Well done to the boy’s team that represented St Pats at the Kilmacud Crokes blitz today in Ballyrickard. While our season is officially over, we brought some of the older boys along to the event. It was an opportunity to challenge ourselves against new opposition. It was a great experience and there was some brilliant football played over three matches. We worked really hard and showed great team spirit to stay competitive in the games.

The boys did the club very proud with their performance on and off the pitch. Thank you to Kilmacud Crokes for the invitation and to Kerins O’Rahilly for hosting the event. A big thank you also to our coaches Brian O’Regan, Michael Higgins, John Colivet, and our head coach Joe Costello.

Hope all our young players enjoy Halloween. Keep up your practice at home and enjoy after school football
